Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):

Unit Secretary Duties:

  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally and promptly.
  • Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff.
  • Maintain and organize patient records and charts.
  • Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures as directed.
  • Order and maintain unit supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.

Certified Nursing Assistant Duties:

  • Provide basic patient care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, and ambulation.
  • Take and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
  • Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
  • Support patients with emotional and physical comfort.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
  • Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
  • Possesses knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
