The Manager of ICU/DOU is a Registered Nurse who assumes 24 hour administrative responsibility for the management of all ICU/DOU nursing service functions. Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations. Assumes 24 hour accountability for the departments. Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the unit and effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time responsibilities for the unit and is directly accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer. Communicates with staff, physicians and administration both written and verbally. Assumes house supervisory responsibilities as assigned, including responding to codes throughout the hospital, assessing and charting, and following through with appropriate documentation.  The ICU/DOU Manager oversees the provision of patient care for adolescent, adult and older adult patients.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California.
2. ACLS /BCLS upon hire and maintain current.
3. A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
4. Must obtain AB 1825 Sexual Harassment Certification within 6 months, and then maintain bi-annually.
5. LA City Fire Card within 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
6. Previous ICU/DOU clinical experience preferred.
7. Critical Care Training Class required.
8. DCI  required upon hire or 30 days after hire

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $37.71 to $61.41. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
