The Research Nurse will be a critical member of the oncology services line. The primary role of the research nurse will be to assist the principal investigator with planning and implementation of protocols and the associated treatment of patients enrolled on those protocols. The Research Nurse will participate in study development to include interaction with the institutional review board, study sponsors, recruit and evaluate patients for protocol eligibilities, schedule studies and treatment, monitor and coordinate patient care. This individual is also responsible for completing case studies and treatment, monitor and coordinate patient care. This individual is also responsible for completing case report forms, attending research related meetings, preparing progress of the study, and participating in audits. The Research Nurse is expected to develop expertise in all issues related to these protocols so as to function autonomously when working with administrative related issues and quarterly reports of protocol progress to the cancer committee.

Education and Work Experience

1. Completion of an RN program from an accredited School of Nursing.
2. Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Nevada
3. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
4. Minimum 6 years of nursing experience with the most recent 3 years of experience in Oncology
5. Must be detail oriented and possess team work skills.
6. Must be motivated, organized and able to perform multiple tasks in a timely manner and work efficiently under pressure.
7. Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple clinical trials and function independently.
8. Must be a critical thinker and possess an analytical approach to problem solving.
9. Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
