About the Opportunity
St. Francis Hospital, a member of the Prime Healthcare system, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Behavioral Health team in Evanston, Illinois. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings within a respected community hospital environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a team-oriented approach, and a passion for mental health care and patient advocacy.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and follow-up visits for adult and/or adolescent patients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and medication management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Support crisis intervention, stabilization, and discharge planning as needed.
Qualifications
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current and unrestricted Illinois APRN license with Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification.
• Current DEA registration and controlled substance license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in psychiatry or behavioral health preferred (new graduates with strong training considered).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical assessment skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $120,000-$140,000 on an annualized basis.
