Overview

We are seeking a Hospital Financial Analyst, sometimes referred to as an Accounting Analyst Financial Operations Analyst, or Healthcare Financial Analyst. The Hospital Financial Analyst reports to the Controller, the Hospital Financial Analyst manages financial and statistical reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with senior management’s goals. The Hospital Financial Analyst ensures timely and accurate financial statements and consistency in financial calculation methods. The position also maintains the decision support database, including the cost accounting module, and completes the monthly accounts receivable valuation.

 

Shifts Available: Days (No Weekends or Holidays)

Employment Type: Full-time - Mon thru Fri

Hours: 8-hour - 8:00am to 5:00pm - flexible start time

Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

** You must have experience in finance or accounting, in the healthcare or hospital industry to move forward in this position!!**

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts for hospital departments
  • Ensure accuracy in month-end and year-end closing processes and maintain compliance with GAAP and hospital policies
  • Compile financial statements, analyze variances, and present summaries to senior leadership
  • Assist in developing annual operating and capital budgets while monitoring departmental spending
  • Evaluate cost centers for profitability, support pricing and reimbursement models, and maintain the cost accounting database
  • Collaborate with department managers and financial teams to translate data into actionable insights and support decision-making

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent education/experience in Business Administration with a major in Accounting
  • Three to five (3-5) years hospital/healthcare accounting/finance experience
  • Proficient in business software applications, i.e., Meditech, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Working knowledge of windows based personal computers
