Responsibilities

The Business Office Manager (“Manager”) works collaboratively with Medical Group leadership to provide management of daily operations of Hospitalist revenue cycle for the inpatient operations of the Medical Group Business Office. This includes oversight of billing, and collection department activities related to patients of all ages (pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).  Manager is responsible for ensuring charges are captured, billed, and collected timely and accurately for various professional service lines including hospitalists, specialists, etc. Responsible for the management of the overall functioning of the Medical Group inpatient revenue cycle.  Coordinates the activities of the billing, collection, departments. Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances, subject to varying and unpredictable situations, involved with emergency or crisis situations, and subject to multiple interruptions. Coordinates with Medical Records, Physicians, CDS staff, Quality, and other departments with the ability to troubleshoot, educate, and solve problems. Is the liaison between hospital leadership, medical director, and hospitalist, communicating policies, procedures and other pertinent information.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.    Bachelor’s degree in related field required. 

2.    3-years management experience in a medical field setting with working knowledge of revenue cycle billing, collections, and bad debt assignments required.

3.    Must have an extensive knowledge of medical terminology, professional coding, billing, and revenue cycle. 

4.    Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

5.    Experience and proficiency with computer applications and programs.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $52,000.00 to $73,465.60 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
