Overview

We are seeking a Cardiology Certified Medical Assistant, also referred to as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)  Cardiology or Cardiology Clinical Assistant.  The Cardiology Certified Medical Assistant (Cardio – CMA) support cardiologists by preparing patients, performing EKGs and stress tests, assisting with procedures, and managing documentation in the clinic. Cardiology CMA’s also handle scheduling, insurance authorizations, and patient education to ensure efficient care and smooth clinic operations. 

 

Shifts Available: Days (No Weekends) 

Employment Type: Full Time 

Hours: 8-hour shifts - 8:00am to 4:30pm  

Location: St Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO (Healient Clinic)

** You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position. We do offer programs to help you get your Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.  

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Prepare patients for exams taking vital signs and documenting cardiac history such as chest pain or palpitations 
  • Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs Holter monitoring event monitors and stress tests ensuring accurate readings 
  • Assist cardiologists during echocardiograms stress tests pacemaker checks and minor in office procedures 
  • Administer medications give injections and prepare medications or IV setups as directed 
  • Collect blood and lab samples for cholesterol cardiac enzyme and metabolic testing and educate patients on heart healthy habits 

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

 

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
  • Current Medical Assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization

 

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus: 

  •  one year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting
