The Nursing Assistant in the Behavioral Health Unit is an unlicensed, non-certified assistive personnel who supports patient care by performing a variety of basic nursing duties under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This role is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, mobility, nutrition, and elimination needs.
Provides support and comfort to patients, promoting emotional well-being and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
Observes and reports changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to the Registered Nurse.
Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff in accordance with behavioral health protocols.
Supports nursing staff with basic patient care procedures and unit operations.
Assists with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as directed.
Ensures patient rooms and common areas are clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Participates in team communication, unit meetings, and ongoing training as required.
Saint Clare's Health offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $16.50 to $19.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
