We are seeking a Student Nurse Extern to join our staff of clinical professionals. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. 

 

Shift’s Available:  Variable

Employment Type: Per Diem (PD / PRN) 

Hours: 12-hour shifts 

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO

Responsibilities

We are seeking Student Nurses to join our clinical teams at St Joseph Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Kansas City, MO. 

 

The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team. The extern performs at the level that has successfully been completed and passed in the clinical section at a local college. Under the general supervision of a Nurse the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with the established protocols, the skills they are able to perform are expanded. All newly hired externs will first function in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. When the student has been cleared by the Supervisor, they may be moved to their appropriate skill level.

Employment Type: Per Diem (as needed) we work around clinicals and school schedules

Shifts Available: Varies

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
 
1. Successfully completed the first semester of a nursing program/Fundamentals of Nursing class.
2. Must be in good and academic standing.
3. Current Basic Life Support Certification.
4. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
