Leave & Accommodation Manager I

Exempt, Full-Time, Benefits, Salary up to $85K

The Leave and Accommodation Manager I is a hands-on leader managing high-volume employee leave and accommodation cases using Leave and Accommodation case management software. This includes FMLA, CFRA, California Pregnancy Leave, Military Leave, Bereavement Leave, and union/company leaves. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws, including ADAA, PWFA, and California disability regulations.

 

· Manage high-volume leave and accommodation cases from intake to return-to-work, including eligibility determination, documentation review, notifications, and benefits guidance.

· Lead the interactive process for medical and pregnancy accommodations under ADAA, PWFA, and California laws.

· Advise employees and managers on leave policies, pay impact, and compliance requirements.

· Serve as a hands-on leader, actively managing cases while mentoring and guiding team members.

· Demonstrated experience with FMLA, CFRA, ADAA, PWFA, California Pregnancy Leave, and state disability laws.

· Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with AbsenceSoft, HRIS, Outlook, and email.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:


1. High school Diploma
2. Three (3) years' experience in Human Resources in a benefits, leave management or generalist related position, with a minimum two (2) years’ experience in ADA/interactive process administration.
3. Strong knowledge of federal and state disability laws, specifically ADAAA, FEHA and FMLA/CFRA; experience with CA leaves.
4. Strong knowledge of the interplay between the FMLA/CFRA, workers’ compensation, and the ADAAA.
5. Strong knowledge and understanding of disability management, return-to-work strategies, ADAAA and related state and local statutes.
6. Ability to analyze, problem solve, organize and manage multiple priorities, and effectively follow up in a fast-paced environment.
7. Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills including consistent demonstration of solid professional judgement.
8. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including effective presentation skills to all levels of the organization.
9. Solid skills in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.


Preferred qualifications:


1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Experience working in a Healthcare environment with a high volume of accommodation cases.
3. Overall understanding of associate benefits as they relate to leaves of absence, short/long term disability, COBRA, state disability pay, etc.
4. Experience with Lawson, JBDev or leave case management software preferred.

 

 

Pay Transparency

Pime Healthcare offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options.  Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary.  A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 on an annualized basis. The compensation estimate noted above is specific to California and has not been adjusted for any other geographic location. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
