Hours: 8-hour shifts – 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

Schedule:  Monday through Friday (one Weekend a month)

Location: Saint John Hospital—Leavenworth, KS

 

***Opening to Newly Graduated Pharmacist ***

 

A clinically focused Hospital Pharmacist (PharmD) providing comprehensive inpatient pharmaceutical care with an emphasis on evidence‑based pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and therapeutic optimization. Experienced in medication order verification, clinical monitoring, medication reconciliation, and transitions of care to reduce adverse drug events and improve patient outcomes. Actively collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams during rounds to support informed clinical decision‑making. Proficient in sterile compounding, USP 797/800 compliance, and hospital regulatory standards, with demonstrated involvement in antimicrobial stewardship, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical protocol adherence.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):

  • Review, verify, and optimize inpatient medication orders for safety and appropriateness
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams during rounds to support evidence‑based therapy
  • Oversee medication dispensing and sterile/non‑sterile compounding per USP 797/800
  • Perform medication reconciliation during admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Educate patients and serve as a drug‑information resource for staff
  • Support medication safety initiatives, adverse event reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage medication inventory, emergency supplies, and pharmacy operations
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and other clinical programs

 

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

  • Current state: Registered Pharmacist License.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy operations is preferred.
  • A B.S. degree in Pharmacy is required; a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certification preferred
