Responsibilities

The Senior Strategic Initiatives Analyst supports Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) operations through detailed analysis of Revenue Cycle data, workflows, and performance metrics. This role applies analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify, evaluate, and support process improvement opportunities that enhance revenue performance and operational efficiency.

 

The Senior Analyst serves as an experienced contributor with specialized knowledge of Revenue Cycle operations and provides subject-matter input on assigned initiatives. The role acts as a liaison between functional teams to support project execution and ensure requirements are clearly communicated and implemented under established direction and governance.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
  2. Practical knowledge of Revenue Cycle processes, including Registration, Billing, Coding, Denials, and Reimbursement methodologies.
  3. Familiarities of UB 04, CMS 1500, 835/837 transactions, and claim status codes.
  4. Experience working with EHR/EMR systems and clearinghouses (e.g., Epic, Meditech, Relay, Waystar, Experian, or similar platforms).
  5. Ability to exercise independent judgment within established procedures, standards, and project direction.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain findings, respond to inquiries, and support operational problem-solving.
  7. Ability to support project plans and change management activities for assigned initiatives.
  8. Ability to develop analytical reports and dashboards to monitor operational trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  9. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  10. Advanced Excel (modeling, PowerQuery/PowerPivot preferred) Knowledge.
  11. Working knowledge of SQL or similar query tools

 

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Exposure to vendor coordination or vendor performance analysis within a healthcare or Revenue Cycle environment.
  2. Work experience with Microsoft Project or Visio preferred.
  3. Exposure to process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) preferred.
  4. Industry certifications such as CRCR, Certified Billing, Certified Coding, or Project Management or analytics certifications are a plus.
  5. Certifications: SQL, Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt, HFMA CRCR or similar a plus
