Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. The Advanced Clinical Technician functions as a critical member of the emergency care team, providing direct patient care under the supervision of an Emergency Department physician and/or Registered Nurse. This role supports rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment of patients presenting with emergent, urgent, and non-urgent conditions. The ACT performs advanced clinical skills including IV access, medication administration, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and physician orders.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.    High School Diploma or equivalent

2.    Completion of an accredited Paramedic or EMT-Advanced (EMT-A) program

3.    Current state licensure/certification as a Paramedic or EMT-Advanced 

4.    Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current

5.    ACLS, PALS, PHTLS/ITLS within 6 months of hire

6.    Maine PIFT Certification 

7.    TNCC audit within 1 year of hire 

8.    IV therapy and medication administration privileges as permitted by state

9.    Minimum three years of recent experience as a prehospital provider required
