Responsibilities

In coordination with the National Vice President of Pharmacy Services, the Regional Vice President of Pharmacy Services is responsible for facilitating the design and implementation of the delivery of pharmacy services, developing and recommending strategies to improve services and clinical outcomes, reaching established goals, maintaining satisfactory outcomes and contributing to the business plans and financial goals of the organization. The individual will be responsible and accountable for ensuring company compliance with State Boards of Pharmacy rules and regulations, maintenance of all company required certifications and accreditations.

 

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  1. Complies with Federal, State and other regulatory agencies dealing with the management of medication.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge related to the management, dispensing, storage, selection and procurement of medications as well as safety practices.
  3. Knowledge of design, build, testing, installation and support of software applications required for the deployment of the Epic Willow application and other Pharmacy IT Systems (e.g. Pyxis).
  4. Utilizes experience in strategic planning and execution.
  5. Understands and incorporates Prime Healthcare Management philosophies into operational plan and goals.
  6. Actively pursues personal continuing education through in-service, programs, workshops, conferences, independent study.
  7. Creation and oversight of policies, procedures and best practices related to pharmacy operations.
  8. Develops and maintains programs for auditing and inspecting pharmacies on performance and compliance of policy, to ensure quality patient care, and to meet regulatory and accreditation standard requirements.
  9. Works closely with the Pharmacy Directors to support business needs and maintain compliant operational with a focus on patient care.
  10. Leads regularly scheduled Clinical and Operational meetings to ensure current regulations, training and new drug therapy information is disseminated effectively to the staff, including monitoring of all manufacturer requirements of participation in FDA programs, drug recall reporting, and other industry related information.
  11. Will meet with and evaluate vendors to secure and maintain contracts, equipment and supplies which are required to carry out effective patient care
  12. Serves as a consultant to all pharmacy directors within the system to maintain safe and optimal pharmacy operations.
  13. Manages and develops relationships with healthcare partners including their executive teams as well as the operations and technology teams.
  14. Designing and implementing future-state business workflows by interacting with business department representatives to analyze needs and translate these into system design
  15. Works with various interdisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of various initiatives, goals, strategic projects, and objectives.
  16. Ensures new acquisitions are successfully onboarded into pharmacy services operations.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

This role is required onsite at either our corporate office in Ontario, CA, or based at one of our hospitals in California or Nevada when not traveling for site visits. This role is not offered remotely. 

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

1.    Bachelor of Science or Advanced Degree in Pharmacy required.  

2.    Current state Registered Pharmacy license.

3.    Multi-state acute care health system experience required.

4.    5+ years of management experience within a hospital environment required.

5.    3+ years of acute care Pharmacy experience required.

6.    Exceptional communication skills / professional presence with ability to lead and drive change on a national scale.

 

Preferred qualifications:

1.    Doctor of Pharmacy Degree preferred.

2.    MBA or advanced business degree preferred.

3.    Residency preferred.

 

 

Pay Transparency

Prime Healthcare offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options.  Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary.  A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $280,000.00 to $320,000.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure. Additionally, employees in this position may be eligible to participate in the Company’s annual discretionary bonus program. Discretionary bonuses, if any, are based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to individual and Company performance.
