Join the Academic Section of Internal Medicine and be an integral part of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Joseph Medical Center!

 

Qualifying candidates will have 2 years' experience working as a hospitalist as well as experience teaching medical students and residents post training.  Candidates must be board-certified in internal medicine.  No new graduates considered.

 

Highlights:

  • See patients with medical residents and students in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Position involves rotations for inpatient, outpatient and skilled nursing care
  • Participate in teaching lectures and didactics as part of the core curriculum for the IM residency program
  • Provide mentorship to medical students and residents
  • Participate in program evaluation and resident evaluation

Position Details:

  • Inpatient 7on/7off
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Shared equal call for all providers
  • On call on average 1 in 4 weekends for inpatient rounding with house staff
  • All candidates must be board certified in internal medicine
  • All candidates must have 2 years' experience working inpatient medicine post residency
  • Experience training medical students and residents post residency 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.    3-5 years work experience in internal medicine inpatient care

2.    Current State Medical License – MD or DO

3.    Unrestricted Current DEA Registration

4.    Current State Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance Certificate of Registration

5.    BLS (AHA or ARC) or ACLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
