Overview

Responsibilities

The Employee Health Manager is responsible for managing the employee health service functions in the facility. Employee Health Manager coordinates employee annual physical examinations, new hire physical clearances, and worker’s compensation issues as requested by Human Resources. Provides emergency evaluation for work related injuries, assures cost effective coordination of treatment, referral to preferred providers, and collaborates with management in development of objectives for employee health services compatible with goals and objectives of the hospital. Documents accurately and helps to maintain required confidential employee and administrative records.  Performs safety rounds safety practices are adhered to within all hospital departments in order to maintain a safe environment for patients, physicians, volunteers, visitors and hospital employees. Assists with policy and procedure development and implementation while maintaining CDC, OSHA, Title 22, HFAP/TJC/CDPH/CMS and other regulatory agency directives.  Acts as a primary education consultant to hospital employees, physicians, patients and visitors in safe Infection Control/Prevention practices, workers compensation, and other employee health related matters.  Responds to potential exposures by communicating with employees, patients, physicians, and regulatory agencies. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.    Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
2.    Minimum of two years’ experience in an acute care setting with at least one year experience in infection control or employee health preferred.

3.     Previous experience in employee health, infection control or occupational health strongly preferred.
4.    Graduate from an accredited school with a degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or other life science related field. Masters Degree Preferred.

 

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $4950. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
