• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department.
• Provide direct patient care to individuals with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergency medical conditions.
• Monitor patient status, interpret clinical findings, and promptly communicate changes in condition to physicians and the care team.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies, trauma cases, and changes in patient condition.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, case managers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Supervise and support ancillary nursing personnel while promoting high standards of patient care.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA requirements, mandatory reporting guidelines, patient privacy regulations, and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.

• Current and unrestricted State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Current PALS and/or ENPC certification within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum one (1) year of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Strong emergency assessment, critical thinking, patient monitoring, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of EMTALA requirements, patient privacy regulations, and emergency nursing standards.

Preferred

• Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Facility-Specific Requirements (As Applicable)

• MICN certification within 12 months of hire for Paramedic Base Station Emergency Departments.
• Completion of Emergency Pediatric Course I & II within 6 months of hire for EDAP-certified facilities.
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire for non-OB facilities.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire.
