Adjunct faculty in World Religion and Comparative Studies teach in MCHP’s General Education programs and provide exemplary student support. Adjunct faculty are expected to use a variety of instructional methods and modalities (e.g., online, face-to-face, hybrid), have experience and comfort with academic technology, and be willing to innovate. The adjunct faculty is tasked with creating effective student learning experiences that support success. Appointments are made on a course-by-course basis and are contingent upon enrollment and program needs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.     Academic credentials from a regionally accredited college or university appropriate to the level and content of the course – optimally, 18 graduate credits in World Religions, Comparative Religion, History of Religions, or a closely related field.

2.     Preferred - Successful record or working with students, faculty, and staff in higher education environments
3.     Preferred – Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
4.     Preferred – Demonstrated teaching competence
5.     Preferred – Experience in course design

Maine College of Health Professions compensates adjunct faculty $1,100.00 per credit hour.
