Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe patient care and clinical leadership within the surgical environment utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice while coordinating staff assignments, surgical schedules, and daily operating room workflow. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care, patient safety, and infection prevention. The Registered Nurse works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to address changes in patient condition and operational needs. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to clinical concerns, staffing needs, and changes in surgical workflow. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. Current and valid state RN License

2. Current BLS upon hire and maintain current

3. Current ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current

4. Current PALS upon hire and maintain current, preferred

5. Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital Surgical OR setting, preferred

6. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room preferred

7. CNOR within 2 years, preferred

8. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred
