Provides support and helps coordinate daily activities within the department. Makes necessary changes to Pharmacy database of medications within the hospital information systems (Soarian Financials and Siemens Pharmacy) and the Automated Drug Dispensing Devices (such as Omnicell, Pyxis, Talyst, etc) in order to ensure appropriate inventory is available on hand and correct charges occur. Promotes safe use of medications and Automated Dispensing Devices throughout the hospital. Ensures accuracy of drug compounding and re-packaging systems. Maintains high level of competence by staying abreast of technological practice changes pertaining to medications. Provides pharmaceutical care for the following age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Assures that all legal and regulatory criteria for medication compounding, repackaging and dispensing are met. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Pharmaceutical Services.
