Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist, a Master’s level clinician, conducts family centered, strengths based, culturally competent therapeutic services to children, youth, and adults who meet the criteria for specialty mental health treatment services and/or substance use issues. 
  • Treatment emphasizes integrating mental health, physical health, and substance use services to decrease and stabilize mental health symptoms and impairments.
  • Services are provided as individual and family therapy; case management and advocacy.
  • To reduce barriers and improve access to treatment, service locations include the office and field such as in the home, schools, or community location. 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Required qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree from an accredited school of Social Work (MSW), Counseling (MFT), Psychology (PsyD, PhD)  or related field.
  2. Must be registered with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences and in good standing as a licensed or pre-licensure associate. Unlicensed psychologists must have a waiver.
  3. Computer literacy and proficiency including Microsoft Office products and EMR navigation.
  4. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance during employment.  Access to a reliable vehicle.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Working knowledge of therapeutic interventions, assessment, and strong clinical documentation skills.
  2. Certified in the following DMH approved EBPs:  AF-CBT, Individual CBT, IPT, TF-CBT
  3. Working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements observed within the behavioral health industry.
  4. Experience with Welligent, EMR.
