The Mail Clerk shall be responsible for all aspects/operations of the courier service. The Mail clerk shall sort all incoming mail correspondence, packages and x-ray films and deliver to the appropriate locations in a timely manner. The mail clerk will ensure that proper postage is affixed. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe. Maintain service that is consistent with all applicable laws and regulations.
Follows daily route/schedule, making deliveries in a timely manner.
Deliveries are made to the appropriate departments in compliance with HIPAA.
Awareness for potential safety hazards and repots them to the appropriate person or correction
Delivers reports to the appropriate individual in compliance with HIPAA.
Delivers appropriate supplies and quantities as requested.
Knowledge of all facility locations/offices.
Knowledge of all contact staff at all locations.
Calls / pages to the courier are answered in a timely manner.
Ensures the performance of basic maintenance of the vehicle; gas, oil change, tire air pressure, windshield wipers, car wash.
Reports the need for additional vehicle maintenance to laboratory management and engineering to coordinate and schedule maintenance.
Operates vehicles in a safe manner.
Special delivery requests are handled in a timely manner.
Ensures all mail is appropriately secured when vehicle/mailroom is left unattended.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Previous office experience preferred.
2. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
