Overview

The Rehabilitation Department at Saint John Hospital is looking for a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Per Diem employee. Our Occupational Therapists work with patients in acute care, outpatient, the senior behavioral unit and the skilled nursing unit. This position would provide weekday coverage in the inpatient settings, including acute hospital care and senior behavioral and skilled nursing units. For candidates who are interested, weekend hours are available at another Prime Hospital close to Saint John Hospital. One year of experience in the inpatient setting is preferred. 

Responsibilities

Provides medically prescribed consultative and therapeutic services within scope of practice in order to restore function and prevent disability for clients or patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and cardiopulmonary disorders. Performs responsibilities in accordance with department and Hospital Policies, state, federal and regulatory requirements: Title 22 Section 70517, 70519. Functions according to professional practice as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience
  1. Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  2. Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license.
  3. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate.
  4. National Board for Certification Occupational Therapy certification, AOTA and OTAC preferred.
