JOB SUMMARY: Performs security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Security Officers’ rounds.  Coordinates facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors.  Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement. Follows guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care.  Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety.  Participates in employee awareness and education.  .  Driving as needed for company business.             

  General Responsibilities

Customer Security Representative responsibilities are to provide a welcoming, customer friendly, and secured environment for Mission Regional Medical Center patients and all customers.  Provide information and location of general hospital operations. Protect life and property of all persons on Hospital premises.  Assists in the prevention of fire, theft and vandalism.  Assists with securing the facility as needed.  Responds to security needs of Hospital personnel.  Has an open and courteous relationship with other departments in order to enhance the quality of services.  Participates in educational, training and retraining programs.  Is willing to participate as a member of a Performance  Improvement Team as  needed.  Assists the Customer Representative Supervisor in meeting or exceeding all JCAHO requirements needed to continue accreditation.


Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment background investigation.

Ability to communicate in English (oral and written), Excellent Customer and Interpersonal skills, Good Writing skills.

  2. Physical Demands

Performs a variety of tasks that involve standing, walking, stooping,          

                        kneeling, lifting, pushing and pulling equipment.

  1. Visual, Hearing and Dexterity Demands

Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention.  Finger dexterity and eye coordination is needed when using equipment and completing written assignments.  Satisfactory hearing and visual skills are required to interpret verbal and written information.

  1. Working Condition:

Possible exposure to hazardous materials as defined by Material Safety Date Sheets. 

Works in the interior and exterior of the facility,  and can organize work duties and is able to work accurately under conditions of interruptions.

Category 1

  1. TB Risk Category



  1. BVP within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
  2. Experience in Healthcare security or related field preferred
  3. State Guard Certification Registration Card – TXDPS level II Non Commission
  4. CPR Required (with 30 days of Hire)
  5. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.


Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):


  1. State Driver’s license upon hire
