Responsible for assisting the program Coordinator in the operation, development, evaluation and fiscal management of the assigned department. Adheres to the time and attendance policy. Able to access medication education information that is culturally relevant and appropriate to the educational level of service recipients. Able to accurately record specific outcomes for compilation. Able to provide services to consumers with a sensitivity toward the impact of trauma. Able to work in a collaborative manner with all customers (internal and external).
Accurately assesses risk factors for crisis, hospitalization, violence and suicide. Actively researches and applies new knowledge and skills to improve. Acts as consultant in the community and provides community education. Adheres to all safety and health related policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations. Reports unusual circumstances impacting safety and effectively surveys department and consumers for patient safety concerns and plans for improvements accordingly Adheres to job specific standards of practice. Remains current in job knowledge and skills. Advocates for clients and ensures staff and program are aware of and responsive to patient rights. Assist in program data collection and completing all necessary reports. Assists in fiscal oversight of the program. Assists in the supervision of all staff including performance evaluations as assigned. Assists with maintenance of equipment for safe and adequate operation. Assists with overall operation of program vehicles including maintenance and repairs. Assists with staff adherence to time and attendance. Assists with staff development and implementation of training as needed. Attends as required: inpatient initial treatment team meetings, aftercare/ discharge, service planning meetings, interagency meetings, Residential Taskforce, and Upper Passaic County Human Service Coalition.
Two (2) years post-graduate experience in which at least one year involved work of a supervisory nature and overall experience including work with clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness as well as psychiatric hospitalization histories. Three (3) years total experience in a behavioral health setting.
