Responsibilities

We are looking for a Surgical/OR Tech to join our team at Providence Medical Center.   This individual would be responsible for prepare the OR room for the Surgical procedures.  This would include setting up instruments and equipment required for the procedure, sterilizing equipment, and taking inventory to ensure there is enough supplies, and maintaining an overall Sterile environment throughout the surgery.

 

Our Surgical/OR Techs work closely with the nurses and other Surgical/OR Techs to ensure communication regarding the procedure is completed with patient before and after their surgery.  This individual will need to have good listening skills, communication skills, and have a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
  2. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties (i.e. General, Ortho, Urology and GYN).
  3. Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  4. Three years experience working in an acute care operating room, functions as primary scrub role for open heart surgery or as a specialtycoordinator.
  5. Previous work experience on an open heart team may be substituted for acute care operating room experience.
  6. Must be proficient in the following specialties: GenGynUrolVascENT/Plastics
  7. Must be proficient in three of the following specialties or coordinating a specialty: Major VascularOrthoNeuroThor/CV
  8. A Surg tech II can work in a Surg Tech III job code if they are willing to learn/scrub on Open Hearts not in primary scrub role. (this is for thesuccession plan).
  9. Proficient is defined as the associate can perform cases in that specialty independently.
