Kansas City Family Medical Care (KCFMC) is a comprehensive Family Medicine practice and is part of the St. Joseph Medical Group, our practice resides in The Community Center within St. Joseph Medical Center.


This full-time (40 hr./wk.), weekday shift Licensed Practical Nurse position will be a member of a clinical team of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and CMAs. The ideal candidate will fit the qualifications and value the responsibilities of the job, as well as possess a cooperative, positive attitude with an eagerness to provide excellent patient care. The position will support the provider and patients with rooming, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, phone calls, medication refills/renewals and referrals. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, has an active LPN license and can multitask portray a positive attitude and is flexible. This position requires strong teamwork with everyone on the KCFMC team.


The candidate must have the following:

  • Background in Family Medicine
  • Be proficient in medical terminology
  • Know how to administer vaccinations
  • Know how to type with basic computer skills as well as basic language skills such as spelling and grammar
  • Be able to listen well and translate that into professional script.
  • Have previous experience as an LPN with hands-on patient care, including taking vitals and accurate histories.
  • Leadership skills are a plus


The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills, within the scope of practice, that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care, and meets the communication needs of the patient and family; Performs under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.


Education and Work Experience
  1. Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Minimum one year experience in an applicable setting preferred.
  4. IV certification upon hire.
