Admitting Manager handles the day-to Day operations for the admitting department this includes all registration functions, Information Desk, financial Counseling, cashier process, insurance verification, and the PBX area.  Implements admissions policies and practices while coordinating with medical, nursing, and accounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement. 


Needs to have extensive knowledge of admitting practices and manages the day-to-day functions of their subordinate staff.  This position does require knowledge of medical terminology, the ability to multi-task, and prioritize needs to meet deadlines.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required, (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
  2. Bachelors’ degree in Business Management or Accounting preferred
  3. Three to Five years experience as a supervisor/manager in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility
  4. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws.  
  5. Strong organizational skills required for effective communication withpatients, physicians, public, staff and administrations.  
  6. Must be able to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  7. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  8. Effective written and verbal communication skills
  9. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  10. Analytical and problem-solving skills
  11. Customer Services experience required
