Responsibilities

Assess plans, and instructor or coordinates educational programs for the EMS department. This includes, but is not limited to: planning and teaching ongoing continuing education for the ALS, BLS and SCTU department members. Maintains files for all education, orientation of employees. Coordinates the paramedic student program in conjunction with area colleges. This position focuses on accomplishing strategic and operational goals and initiatives within the department and organization for the purposes of quality, patient safety, clinical competence, and professional development. This position is in alignment with the New Jersey State OEMS guidelines for clinical educator/coordinator. Provides care to patients ranging from neonatal through geriatric.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. Five to seven years’ experience in the EMS field required.
  2. Previous Emergency Medical Services Teaching experience required.
  3. Current New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician, Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic, or Mobile Intensive Care Registered Nurse Certification required. (National Registry Certification preferred)
  4. Current New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician Instructor Certification required.
  5. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (Instructor preferred)
  6. CEVO Certification within 3 months of hire
  7. PHTLS Certification within 3 months of hire (Instructor preferred)
  8. Valid Driver’s License
  9. Emergency driving experience required.
  10. Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field preferred.
