This position for Peer Advocate is for the Wellness and Recovery Center of Warren County. The position is on-site for 20 hours per week, and includes one evening per week. The Peer Advocate will assist in a variety of functions which includes providing education and support to enrolled individuals and families as needed. The Peer Advocate may greet new clients to the program, explain services to callers/new clients, provide support calls to individuals, or provide in-person supportive contact, as needed. The Peer Advocate may also assist in care management functions such as assisting clients with completing required documentation as part of enrollment, and/or providing assistance with community resources.
Participates as a member of the Early Intervention Services Team to provide crisis intervention, education and support services to consumers of mental health services in an effort to prevent hospitalization and unnecessary use of psychiatric screening and psychiatric emergency services. Provides care to adult patients. Participates as a member of an Interdisciplinary Team. Provides education and support to consumer and/or their families.
