The Children’s Counseling Center is funded through Los Angeles County’s Department of Mental Health (DMH) to provide community based mental health to children, youth, and families.  Services are clinic and field based and include individual and family therapy, rehabilitation, case management, and medication management. The role of the Clinical Supervisor is to develop a highly effective clinical team by supporting direct service staff in providing high quality care while ensuring legal and ethical standards are being met.

Conducts a therapeutic recreation program within the hospital to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically and mentally disabled. The Hearing Screen Tech is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care in the department setting. This position is responsible for referrals, follow-up hearing screening for those infants that fail the first screening, and input of hearing screening charges. The Hearing Screen Tech providing care and service to a neonatal patient population.  The associate is responsible for providing age appropriate care to acutely ill through normally healthy patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and development age of the individual served.

The Lactation Consultant Educator and nurse will provide skilled lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants throughout the healthcare facility, including inpatient and outpatient settings. Promotes breastfeeding and assists with facilitating change within the clinical settings using evidence-based care management. Manages CMQCC data. Does education for new nurses in OB. Helps facilitate educational classes for potential patients as well.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills, within the scope of practice, that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care, and meets the communication needs of the patient and family; Performs under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LVN provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring clinical competence within the scope of practice in accordance with state requirements. - In collaboration with the healthcare team, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the LVN works to maintain safety, provide patient comfort and care and improve the overall patient experience in the medical surgical setting. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. - Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. - The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. - The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. - He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. - Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
