The Utilization review tech essentially works to coordinate the utilization review and appeals process as part of the denial management initiatives. Utilization review tech is responsible for coordinating phone calls, data entry, mailing/faxing appeals and tracking data from various insurance providers and health plans regarding authorization, expedited reviews and appeals. Document and track all communication attempts with insurance providers and health plans and scan all related correspondence to the respective EMR/ tracking tool. Utilization review tech will follow up on all denials while working closely with the Corporate/Facility Utilization review teams, Business Office and Case Managers. Each individual performs only those waived, moderate, or highly complex tests authorized by CLIA, Bus. & Prof. Code Section 1204, and must possess a degree of skill commensurate with individual’s education, training or experience and technical abilities. This individual: 1) functions as the department Section Supervisor or Lead, responsible for supervising the daily operation of the section(s), 2) provides consultative services to the medical staff in the capacity of Technical Consultant, 3) oversees the section/department performance improvement program and participates in hospital interdisciplinary performance improvement initiatives, 4) is responsible for the technical and fiscal management of the section(s), 5) oversees the section(s) quality management/assurance program, 6) ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, 7) assesses staff competency and completes performance evaluations in a timely manner,8) ensures the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting, 9) develops, maintains and updates section policy and procedure manuals, 10) reviews quality control performance ensuring documentation of corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications, 11) identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and either correct the problem or immediately notify the, Director, or Medical Director, 12) performs a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory, 13) ensures the performance and documentation of equipment maintenance – daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed, 14) recognizes age specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics, 15) ensures that the testing of proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples and that collaboration with other laboratories is prohibited prior to the reporting of proficiency testing results to the appropriate agencies, 16) ensures the currency of all laboratory policies and procedures, 17) adheres to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources, 18) may be assigned responsibilities related to LIS and/or POC. 19) other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager/director.
The Telemetry Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and resources. Ensures the efficient functions of the department . Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assesses patient care and directs staff to make necessary changes in the plan of care. Effectively communicates with physicians and staff to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Staff RN is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, and indirectly to the House Supervisor. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and older adults. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services. Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
The Director of Emergency Services Operations and Development is responsible for system wide coordination of Emergency Services across Prime Healthcare Region I that supports corporate-wide initiatives, operations of all Emergency Services programs and aspects of Emergency Services business development. The director will also assume a leadership role in developing, implementing and coordinating strategies and programs with Region I CNO to track and increase patient throughput, volumes, growth and revenue, and decrease Emergency Services diversion time. This leader works collaboratively with Administration and Leadership at the facility level to oversee compliance with goals and objectives established by Prime Healthcare.
