Prepares and complies records in the ER. Orders supplies for the unit and prepares and completes each patient's chart for necessary forms needed daily. Able to assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring. *Note: May provide direct patient care under the direct supervision of the RN within scope of Certified Nursing Assistant if 1) possesses active CNA certification; 2) demonstrates annual competency in CNA duties and skills and 3) is relieved of Monitor Technician duties during the time of assisting the RN.

The Interventional Endoscopy Technician is directly responsible to the GI physician, Endoscopy RN, Surgeon, or the RN/Supervisor of the area that the Endoscopy is being performed (ie, ER, ICU/CCU, OR). The Interventional Endoscopy Technician works as a scrub assistant to the physician during all invasive endoscopy procedures. They perform all GI procedures including, but not limited to Biopsy, Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC), Barrx, Dilation, Specimen acquisition, Labeling and handling, and Peg Tube placement. All at the direction of the GI Physician, Surgeon, or RN. The Interventional Endoscopy Technician is also responsible for insuring safe transportation, handling, disinfection, sterilization and maintenance of the Flexible Endoscopes, and the Automated Reprocessing devices. This is an ongoing process of education and updating current practices following the manufacturer’s suggested guidelines, and recommendations of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA), JCAHO, and the Centers of Disease Control (CDC). The Interventional Endoscopy Technician confirms GI suite procedure is as scheduled, availability, readiness and completeness of needed supplies instruments and equipment before patient enters GI Suite. They confirm integrity and appropriate preparation of all sterile items before opening and again while preparing aseptic/ sterile field.

All Advanced Imaging Techs, will practice their skills within the scope of their credentials and with a valid written physician’s order always. Skill evaluations will be done by the area supervisor or preceptor assigned. Advanced Imaging Techs will perform, under the supervision of a physician and complete exams per protocol using diagnostic criteria; completes required information on PACS; promote the smooth and efficient operation of the Imaging Department through the appropriate utilization and management of all clerical functions within the department including document handling and disposition, interpersonal relationships and information gathering and dispersion. Advanced Imaging Techs meet all requirements set forth by accreditation (ICAEL, ICAVL and ACR) as appropriate and governing bodies, including JCAHO, federal and state bodies, and department-specific requirements. The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics. This position also secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.
Radiology

Performs Diagnostic Radiographic Procedures according to department protocols, HFAP/TJC/local regulatory/CMS, State and Federal Regulations. Functions as the first line interface with customers and is successful in the accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in PI/QC activities. Responsible for processing and transmission of images to PACS.
UTILIZATION REVIEW TECH I

The Utilization review tech essentially works to coordinate the utilization review and appeals process as part of the denial management initiatives. Utilization review tech is responsible for coordinating phone calls, data entry and tracking data from various insurance providers and health plans regarding authorization, expedited reviews and appeals. Document and track all communication attempts with insurance providers and health plans. Utilization review tech will follow up on all denials while working closely with the Corporate/Facility Utilization review teams, Business Office and Case Managers. The Utilization review tech will also serve as the primary contact and coordinate the work to maintain integrity of tracking government review audits (RAC, MAC, CERT, ADR, Pre/Post Probes, QIO/Medicaid) and other payer audits as assigned. The Utilization review tech will further support the department needs for Release of Information, discharge coordination or other duties as assigned.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient�s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
