The Inpatient Coder Auditor Trainee finalizes the coding and abstracting of the medical record upon ensuring the assignment of International Classifications of Diseases, Ninth Revision (ICD-9-CM) or Tenth revision (ICD-10/PCS), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), and Health Care Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), are accurate and supported by the clinical documentation of the respective medial record. Holding a senior coding position, assumes primary responsibility for DRG validation/accuracy, primary role in assisting CDS and medical staff members with improving quality of clinical documentation. Participates in chart review projects as assigned and other duties as needed.

The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes administrative responsibility for the management of all department service functions on his/her shift. Makes frequent rounds throughout facility to monitor the delivery of care, oversee the quality of services and direct patient care activities as needed. Directly supervises, provides support to and communicates with all staff house-wide. In the absence of the Hospital Administrative staff, the administrative scope and responsibility is extended to all services within the hospital. Ensures efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice and competence. Ensures all temporary agency personnel are deployed and oriented in compliance with hospital policy. Assist medical staff with scheduling after hour procedures and calling in stand-by call staff members. Enhances the patient/family experience through supportive interactions and explanations of hospital policies as needed.

The Inpatient Coder Auditor Trainee reviews and analyzes documentation present in the medical record for inpatient visits to ensure accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes assigned by the Coders or Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS) or Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) software. - Performs Diagnostic Radiographic, Cat Scan, Mammography, Bone Density, Ultra Sound or Special Procedures according to department protocols. - Functions as the first line interface with customers and is successful in the accomplishment of their imaging needs. - Participates in PI/ QC activities. - Assists in Maintaining Performance Improvement Program. - Oversees radiology area and/or staff in Managers / Directors absence. - Maintains department supplies. - Promotes teamwork and good customer service. - Does scheduling for assigned sub departments and maintains supplies and equipment for assigned sub department. - Responsible for Processing and transmission of Images to PACS.

The centralized scheduler is directly accountable to the Admitting Leadership the Centralized Scheduler routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. This may include, but is not limited to; Clinic visits, Surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur. Coordinates with departments as necessary. Ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable. Notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries. Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel.
