The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct patient care within the scope of nursing practice and state regulations. 

Working in the Medical Surgical (Med Surg) department, the LPN/LVN collaborates with Registered Nurses (RNs) and the healthcare team to support patient safety, comfort, and a positive patient experience.

• Provide patient care in the Medical Surgical (Med Surg) unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Monitor and document vital signs, patient conditions, and changes in health status.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered and permitted by licensure.
• Support the implementation of patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Document patient care and observations in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Maintain infection control standards and patient safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.     High School Diploma or equivalent required.

2.     Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.

3.     IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.

4.     Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

5.     Work experience in health care preferred.
