Hours: Monday through Friday (No Call or Weekend requirement)

Responsibilities

***This position does not require being on-call nor working weekends/holidays!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to): 

 

  • Set up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and sterilize all instruments before surgery.
  • Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and assist with various tasks.
  • Count and manage sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures.
  • Help position and drape patients appropriately for surgery.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations.

 

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  

  • Graduation from an accredited ORT/Surgical Tech program AND minimum one year of experience
  • On-the-job trained techs: minimum 2 years experience in a main OR surgical setting
  • Must be proficient in the following specialties: ENT and Plastics
  • Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., General, Ortho, Urology, Ophthalmic, Pain, Colo-Rectal)
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
