The Phlebotomy Technician I (Phlebotomist I) performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages to support clinical laboratory testing and diagnostic services. This role ensures accurate specimen collection, processing, and documentation while delivering excellent patient care and customer service under the supervision of Laboratory Leadership.

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on all patient populations
• Ensure accurate patient identification, labeling, and specimen handling
• Process specimens across core lab areas (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.)
• Complete LIS data entry and basic clerical duties
• Provide professional patient communication and customer service
• Maintain lab supplies, equipment, and cleanliness
• Support specimen transport, reference lab send-outs, and workflow operations
• Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.     High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.

2.     BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current, required.  

3.     Minimum of one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.
