The Clinical Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, the Clinical Supervisor may assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations. The Clinical Supervisor prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel. Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment, and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Dallas Regional Medical Center is actively seeking full time, night shift RNs to join its award-winning Emergency Room team. The Emergency Department (ED) Nurse is responsible and accountable to the Department Director for the quality of nursing staff and the delivery of patient care during his/her shift and assists the Director in the daily operation of the respective unit(s)/department. Here are some Charge Nurse qualities we're looking for on our ER team:
- provides direct communication with the Director and/or House Supervisor of unanticipated patient care events and/or risk management activities within patient care unit(s)

- assists with performance evaluations, progressive discipline of staff and other related HR activities as needed

- collaborates with other department managers/supervisors to ensure smooth coordination of services to patients
- enhanced patient flow within the facility and efficient admission/discharge/transfer processes
- assesses patient care delivery and quality of care/documentation on a consistent basis
- directs staff members to make immediate changes in the plan of care, as appropriate, to ensure patient safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines, hospital policies, procedures, protocols and/or clinical pathways and notifies Department Director, House Supervisor and/or Medical Staff as appropriate utilizing the chain of command
- interviews patients/families on admission and during rounds to enhance positive patient experiences, provide comprehensive orientation to the patient care unit and increase patient/family awareness on how to access services and/or the charge nurse, if necessary
- the Charge Nurse may perform direct patient care within scope of practice and clinical competency to ensure patient safety and patient/nurse ratios - he/she shall be temporarily relieved of Charge Nurse duties during such times by Director/designee and shall document details of same on patient care assignment record
The Utilization review tech essentially works to coordinate the utilization review and appeals process as part of the denial management initiatives. This position will also serve as a liaison and own the coordination with other UR techs in the team while being responsible for coordinating phone calls, data entry, mailing/faxing appeals and tracking data from various insurance providers and health plans regarding authorization, expedited reviews and appeals. Document and track all communication attempts with insurance providers and health plans and scan all related correspondence to the respective EMR/ tracking tool. Utilization review tech will follow up on all denials while working closely with the Corporate/Facility Utilization review teams, Business Office and Case Managers. The Utilization review tech will also serve as the primary contact and coordinate the work to maintain integrity of tracking government review audits (RAC, MAC, CERT, ADR, Pre/Post Probes, QIO/Medicaid) and other payer audits as assigned. UR tech III will also function as an SME to support the UR tech team and remote counter parts with the specific processes as applicable. The Utilization review tech will further support the department needs for Release of Information through faxing and mailing, discharge coordination or other duties as assigned.
