The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace.  Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.  Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors.  Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

The centralized scheduler is directly accountable to the Admitting Leadership the Centralized Scheduler routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. This may include, but is not limited to; Clinic visits, Surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur. The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting.  The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

The MRI Technologist is responsible for the performance of all aspects of MR imaging, accurately and in accordance with established procedures and policies in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in patients of all groups. Follows all regulatory guidelines and MRI safety precautions. Maintains professional standards of conduct an ethics as outlined in department expectations and professional organizations.  Contributes to total patient care by accessing pertinent patient information, processes images, assures correct images, accurate billing and file documentation, records information related to exams into department computer system. Performs other activities in support of clinical team members when not engaged in imaging activities.
