We are seeking a Cardiac Stress Nurse (PRN), internally referred to as our Cardiology RN at Providence Medical Center (Kansas City, KS), a member of Prime Healthcare. Cardiovascular nurses assist cardiologists by offering direct care to patients with acute or chronic cardiovascular diseases. They may use electrocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular monitoring to evaluate the heart health of our patients. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.    Shift’s Available:  Variable Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN) Hours: Varied   Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): - assess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation - monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify irregularities or signs of distress - administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, oral medications, and intravenous infusions, including medications to regulate blood pressure, control arrhythmias, or manage heart failure symptoms - provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to manage their condition effectively - as a Cardiology RN you may assist physicians during cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress test - respond to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrests or acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) by initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols

The G.I. technician is directly accountable to the G.I. RN, the outpatient charge nurse, the outpatient supervisor, and the director of surgical services, and indirectly to the shift nursing supervisor. The G.I. technician is responsible for being the scrub assistant to the physician during invasive G.I. procedures. The tech hands sterilized instruments, scopes, and/or supplies to the physician during the procedure without unnecessary delay. Assist co-workers in the provision of continuous, quality patient care for adolescents, adults, and older adults. Focus will be on conducting diagnostic X-ray procedures. This involves operating X-ray equipment to capture images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. An important role in assisting healthcare providers by producing high-quality images that aid in diagnosing medical conditions and formulating treatment plans for our patients.   Shift’s Available: Varied Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN) Shift Hours: Varied   Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): - perform Diagnostic Radiographic, Cat Scan, or other procedures according to department protocols, while cross training as a CT Tech - responsible for ensuring that X-ray equipment is functioning properly and that images meet quality standards, which may involve performing equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting as needed - interact with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety during X-ray examinations - maintain accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information, images, and relevant medical history - stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certification - operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images - participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP) - maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license - other duties and responsibilities maybe assigned depending on department need and growth

The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her Med/Surg Ortho Joint assigned patients. He/She communicates with physician about changes in the patients clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
