The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team. The extern performs at the level that has successfully been completed and passed in the clinical section at a local college. Under the general supervision of an RN the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with the established protocols, the skills they are able to perform are expanded. All newly hired externs will first function in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. When the student has been cleared by the Supervisor, they may be moved to their appropriate skill level.

Saint John Hospital is looking for a per diem, variable shift Patient Account Registrars to join our growing and dynamic staff!   The Patient Account Registrar duties include, but are not limited to: - interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics - secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable - work closely with all facets of the Admitting Department, including PBX operator function and reception areas - must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data - able to communicate with the population served utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics - maintain proficiency in medical terminology - special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe - we are looking for a person with a positive attitude who has compassion and empathy for others - willingness to learn and be ambitious and successful in your role  

The Nurse Practitioner focuses on providing general care to patients of all ages, with utmost patience, care, compassion and understanding. Perform tasks within their scope of practice which may include conducting tests, recording medical histories, providing treatments, assisting physicians and enhancing public awareness on the importance of health, and prescribing medications.   You will be caring for patients of all ages that present to our facility.   Hours: 30 hours/week 2  12-hour shifts on weekdays  1 6-hour shift on Saturdays

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guidespatient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. TheRegistered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates withphysician about changes in the patient�s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Isable to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
